JASON ARNOPP: SOME FACTS

Arnopp was once held at gunpoint at the Vatican in Rome. This was thanks to an ill-advised scheme to take UK black metal band Cradle Of Filth to Vatican City. The band's deeply offensive T-shirts, coupled with a complete lack of prior permission, led to Arnopp, photographer and band being surrounded by angry men levelling submachine guns. The moral? Don't mess with the Pope.

Arnopp has provided sleeve notes for various rock albums. These include Judas Priest's 'Meltdown - Live', plus re-releases of Fear Factory's 'Demanufacture' and Machine Head's 'Burn My Eyes'.

Arnopp's favourite films include The Shining (1980), John Carpenter's The Thing, Goodfellas, True Romance, Fargo, Fight Club, My Little Eye and Dead Man's Shoes. His favourite TV shows include Doctor Who, The Shield, Spooks, Torchwood, Waking The Dead, EastEnders, Hollyoaks, The Day Today, Peep Show, Brass Eye and The Office.

Arnopp was once involved in a front-page tabloid tale about Brit comic Michael Barrymore. While it only amounted to having been a witness to Barrymore being drunk in a Manchester hotel bar, it was a highly stressful experience for a young Arnopp, fresh in 1993 London.
