I started out as a rock journalist, working for the UK rock weekly Kerrang! on a freelance basis before joining the staff.

Over the years, I've also written for the likes of Doctor Who Magazine, Heat, SFX, Q, Metal Hammer, Classic Rock, Bizarre, Mixmag, Melody Maker, The Word and The Face.  I funnelled whatever wisdom I gained from those years into my acclaimed non-fiction book How To Interview Doctor Who, Ozzy Osbourne And Everyone Else.
