I worked on the UK weekly rock magazine Kerrang! for many years, both as a freelancer and on the staff (News Editor, Deputy Editor, Acting Editor - not all at the same time.)

As a freelance journalist, I spent most of the 90s jetting to and fro across the Atlantic.  An amazing experience.

Highlights of my time on Kerrang! include touring Japan with the Manic Street Preachers in 1994; being held at gunpoint by angry security staff in Rome's Vatican City; and becoming part of a front-page news story about Michael Barrymore in The Sun.
